Château de Saint-Point - Château de Lamartine
Part of the Abbey of Cluny's defence in the 12th century. Home to Alphose de Lamartine in 1820, the château was remodelled in a Neo-gothic English style by the poet and his wife Mary Ann Birch. Very fine English park. Lamartine's tomb can be seen in the 12th century Romanesque church nearby. The château has belonged to the Lamartine family since 1802 and is owned today by descendants of the poet's nephew.
