In 1708, the plans of both the records of Thoiry and the French State show the formal gardens as they were created by Claude Desgot, LeNotre's nephew and successor. Today, Paul and Annabelle de La Panouse keep and restore the formal gardens. They have developed the landscape gardens and the botanical collections on the rest of the park.
