Hôtel de Soubise - Musée des Archives Nationales
Within the historical Center of the public records, the museum of the French history is installed in one of most beautiful and the vastest hotels of the Marais, the Soubise Palace.
Built by Delamair in 1705 and decorated by Germain Boffrand, it preserves a rich interior decoration and some of the most beautiful parts of "rocaille" style. The gilded skirtings, the carved medallions and the painted panels are attributed to the famous artists of the 18th century : Boucher, Van Loo, Natoire and Restout.
Temporary exposures on historical topics emphasize some of the large documents of the public records.
The Hotel of Soubise does not receive the private individuals for the receptions.
