In a 12 hectare park in a former barony of the Béarn, a small 17th century manor house is home to one of the most beautiful decorative art collections in Aquitaine. Here Flamish art dominates along with Napoleonic souvenirs and above all Philippe Le Bon, the duke of Burgundy's priceless "Livre d'Heures". The guided tour will enable you to discover Aubusson tapestries, paintings of Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun, Breughel, Rubens, Fragonard, and also porcelain, earthenware and furniture.
A large park, with hundred year old trees, and a games and discovery area, is an invitation to take a walk. French gardens with glassy waters and flower beds end in a terrace from which the view dives into a green basket with the Gave d'Oloron which runs at tis feet, the slopes of the other bank in the distnace, and in the background, the summits of the Pyrenean chain.
