Château de Longpra
Situated in the heart of the Lyon - Grenoble - Chambery triangle, the Château de Longpra (12th - 18th century) has belonged to the same family since 1536.
Countess Albert de FRANCLIEU will be glad to welcome you there.
The moats and the drawbridge which enables to cross them both testify to what the fortified house was like in the Middle Ages : an austere and self-defending house.
From 1755, Pierre-Antoine PASCALIS de LONGPRA, member of the Parliament of Grenoble, had his house razed to the ground and rebuilt in the taste of the 18th century. Using the abilities of the bricklayers and carpenters of the village, as well as the talents of the Grenoble cabinetsmakers, among which HACHE, he realized a sumptuous aristocratic residence that the genius ofthe italian painters and decorators coloured. This art is still intact today.
