Description :

The Valois Chateau, where François Ier was born in 1494, built on the heights of the Charente river. Historic building built between the 12th and the 16th century.
Home of the governor built in the 15th century, when the François Ier 's grandfather, the Count Jean de Valois, made it its main home.
Room with the helmet : room of pageantry of the 13th century ; presence of the Valois' blazon, dynasty of François Ier, above the chimney.
Arched cellars : cellars with exceptional conditions for the conservation and the ageing of the Otard cognacs. Thick walls of 3 meters, temperature of 15° all the year and a moisture of more than 90 %.
Room of the States : splendid rooms Renaissance built in 1517 by François Ier at the beginning of his reign, in order to receive there all the biggest kings of the World.
At the end of the visit, tasting of a Otard cognac and possibility to buy products in our shop in self-service. Relaxation space.
