Château du Lude
Inhabited by the same family for 200 years, the chateau of Lude is a perfect example of the evolution of French architecture from the medieval fortress until the elegant Renaissance and 18th century residence. Terraced gardens, rose garden, vegetable garden and stables still in use make Lude a lively estate property, always admired by its famous passing guests, such as Gilles de Rais, Henri IV, Louis XIII, the Marchioness of Sévigné and the Queen Mother of England.
